The Greatest Gift Ever

We’ve been in the advertising business for far longer than we can remember. And over the years, we’ve seen a fair share of Season’s Greetings cards, DM pieces, calendars, boxes of premium chocolates (all right, this we’ll never tire of) and so on. Some were brilliant, some not so b., and some a downright downer!

So for our very own 2014 Season’s Greetings piece, we set the bar for ourselves at: Come up with The Greatest Season’s Greetings Piece Ever.

What did we do?

Simple. We created The Greatest Gift Ever.

The premise: What gift can we send that even The Person Who Has Everything doesn’t have?

The answer: A sock. A single, solitary sock.

Baffled? Fret not, all will be explained.

Everyone has a sock with a missing partner (lying forlorn and alone in closets, cupboards, drawers). You, us and even The Person Who Has Everything.

Voila! The Greatest Gift Ever.

The Greatest Gift Ever was sent to 250 recipients in advertising and marketing and communications in Dubai and around the Middle East. The response varied from sweet (“How sweet!”) to profane (Holy ************ sweet!”).

End result #1: Lotsa smiles.

End result #2: Recipients could use it as a Festive Sock and stuff it with a variety of goodies as a gift.

End result #3: Birdie & Shop and Ship gave Dubai Cares a cheque of USD 2014, a small contribution from us to a good cause.

End result #4: Good karma!
